What this site is

A free reference that combines NOAA space-weather forecasts (Kp index and the OVATION aurora model), National Weather Service cloud-cover forecasts, and computed darkness windows to give plain-language northern-lights verdicts for Alaska communities. All times are shown in Alaska Time.

Forecasts are not guarantees

Aurora forecasting is inherently uncertain. Verdicts are odds based on public forecast models, not promises that a display will or will not occur. Do not rely on this site for safety-critical decisions, navigation, or aviation.

Acceptable use

Use the site for its intended purpose. Do not attempt to disrupt the site, misrepresent its data as your own without attribution, or scrape it aggressively enough to degrade service for others.

Advertising

The site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Ad content is the responsibility of the advertisers.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its data.
